I say no. Your transmission can't handle that kind of abuse. I'd rather have my clutch go instead of a gear. How much power are you planing on making? A stock WRX clutch is good to about 300HP. I vote Exedy WRX clutch, like $164
That six puck is something like Doug V. would be running. Are you looking for power figures like he has?

like this:
Ebay link
From NASIOC clutch FAQ http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=775679 -
How much torque will the OEM 5MT and 6MT clutches hold? Though no one knows for sure, common knowledge say that the 5MT will hold 300 TQ and the 6 MT will hold 400 TQ.
I don't think I'd go with much higher than a Stage 1 clutch at the most. My logic is this: With all that power, there's got to be a weak link. If it's not the clutch, then it's the transmission.
EDIT: Oh, and that will work with the stock flywheel. I've been running one for about 20k miles now.

I have a stage 1 Exedy Organic clutch (with a lightweight flywheel) and stock boost, catback exhaust (nothing for power) and i can break the tires loose, yet get stuck in LA traffic for 4 hours, and still be ok.
I LOVE my clutch

This ebay store will solve all of your problems. Buy a kit for a WRX (not STi). They're low priced, quality clutches. I can testify to that and I believe that there are a few other members on here that will, too.
Personally, I bought a Exedy Stage 2 clutch kit. It took a bit of getting used to, but it's great. I think a Stage 1 would've been just fine.
I highly recommend that you stay away from pucked clutches.

What about this, it seems a little weak, 294tq, i guess i wont have that much at the crank....
What do the flwwheel bolts have to be torqued to? Will that clutch even work?
Mod edit: Sorry, I'm not singling out you, I'm just tired of changing everyone's damn ebay links

Yes that clutch will work perfectly.
I don't know what the FW bolts have to be torqued to. I just tightened the shit out of mine lol. It's held up for almost 2 years now...

A full-face clutch is good for daily
A 6-puck is more aggressive, though the unsprung 6-puck in an STi is a GREAT clutch
A 4-puck is totally worthless. There's no reason to use it. Even in a full-out race car a 3 or 4 puck is junk. A pain to drive, and no advantage over any other clutch out there.
We've gone 10.77 on a 6-puck, and 10.80 on an Exedy twin disc.
