Help needed with recently acquired '94 BF Turbo

First of all, you don't know how happy I am to find this forum! I am originally a Toyota guy that has a fair amount of experience under my belt, but I recently got a '94 Legacy Turbo AWD wagon. Now, like Toyota, subaru's are known for their dependability and gas economy, and that's what I bought it for, but that whole idea is now shot to hell! I found this turbo wagon and I want to mod it. I have gotten so many different suggestions from so many people it's unbelievable.

So, guys....please, please help me. So far, this is what I am thinking:

Suspension: I have only found White Line springs. I saw the HKS camber kit, and I was looking at KYB's to start.

Wheels: Not sure yet.

Engine: This is where I am dying!!!! It's a turbo engine, but it's air cooled, so what would be the best way to go about intercooling, changing the turbo, injectors, fuel pump, boost controller, heads?

You see what I mean? I am not sure if I should do an engine swap, work with what I have.....erghhhh! Help!

Exhaust: who knows where I can get a cat back, I can't find one.

body kits: I've seen rear spoliers on the hatch's of some on line but where can I get one.

I know it's a lot to ask, but where should I start on this car. I hear the 2.2L bottom on this engine is crazy, but how can I take advantage of it. Like I said I am no amateur when it comes to mods, but this is a strange one, because I don't know if I will be wasting my time working with what's there, or should I swap it altogether. How much boost can this engine take with stock internals? did I buy the wrong car to mod?

I think the cheapest & easiest way to get -
1. An intercooler
2. Bigger Injectors
3. 16G turbo
4. DOHC heads
5. DOHC intake manifold
Would be to swap in a GC8 EJ20G off a 93-96 WRX & run it off your Stock sensors / ECU (no wiring required - plug & play!).

Save the ej22t coming out of your car to build into a Hybird if you crack a piston on the EJ20G, or sell it to pay for the EJ20G.

I have a EJ20G off a GF8 (WRX Wagon that came with A small TD04 turbo) on my SS & it is pretty fun for a Auto.
The car ran decently on the strip with the TD04 @ 14psi + grandma 4eat launches (no brake torque) as detailed in my sig, but could have run better (the 96.41 MPH trap speed is more in line with a 14.2 ET that my 14.5).

I put a TD05 on the car now & run 18ish psi so I think ETs may improve a bit.
Next mods will be a High Stall Torque converter & Modded V-body - so I can Launch the dam thing!

i would have to say subaru are way more dependable than a toyota and they sure as hell dont smoke like a toyota

my uncle has a 91 NA FWD legacy that has 411k miles on it with original motor and trans and its still kicking only repairs have been valve cover gaskets, axles, and struts and your average tune up

The engine is most certainly not air cooled!

yeah for real just because the car has a turbo doesnt mean its air cooled its more than likely to be way hotter than a NA car with a 1500 degree plus turbo it sure isnt pushing cold air into the motor

but personally i would go with the front mount intercooler just because the Top mount intercooler can get heatsoaked in extreme heat conditions the FMIC is a harder install than the TMIC but is really worth it

I would suggest reading up on all of the forum areas.

This would give you an idea of what has been done before you and what works.
