Wheel STud Keeper

Post by courtjesterclown »

IM not sure this is in the right section, be here it goes. Last night i was taking off both front calipers to get the rotors turned down and i noticed the driver side had a wheel stud (or lug) that was slightly cross threaded. so i decided to knock it out and go get a new one. So i knocked it out but it was still held in the hub assembly from a keeper ring that mounts on the back of the hub on every other hole with allen headed screws between the studs. I called all the parts places, nobody had any idea what this piece was. Do i really need this piece? Is its only purpose to make sure the lugs dont back all the way out? ANy help is appreciated. thanks.

ABS Tone Ring. You should keep it if you want your ABS to work.
