Supercharger on 2.2T block

Post by Grant Hughes »

One of the things my manager at Subaru (he used to
work at GMC) had said to me was that he felt that
Subaru drivers where in the upper ten percent of the
population in intelligence levels. I see this daily
at my training as everyone there seems to be pretty
low down on the IQ levels and love Chevy's or Fords.
After having to drive up and down twenty miles of
interstate at rush hour I am realizing that the reason
that so many people love these crappy vehicles is
because some of them don't know any better. Not
saying all people that drive these vehicles are idiots
(my dad has a chevy truck and my sister has one of
both Chevy and Ford) but a large quantity of people
just don't know any better. I was looking at an
Avalanche today and they are even worse up close.

Grant,

I'm inclined to agree with your manager.....and ya I think you're right. For the most part.....they just don't know any better. They think replacing half of the electronics under the hood at 20,000 miles under warranty is a good thing. You shouldn't had those problems in the first place!!

Oh well....just means more subies for me :)

Josh

Supercharger on 2.2T block

Strange you should mention Chevy I had very bad experiance with one of
those that led me to being a Subaru driver for the last 11 years. My
current car is a '95 Imprezza with a modified '94 turbo motor and
Turbo Legacy running gear. The idea of a Supercharger sounds good but
we had a vane type installed on a SVX motor that was in a Legacy
wagon and that did not turn out well, to many problems with sound
level and control. Next was a Supercharger from Rimmer but that didn't
get very far either before he decided he had had enough of the auto
business. I really think the best bang for the buck is a turbo and am
planning on installing a TD05 from a '99 WRX on my car. But if I can
be of help in trying another Supercharger project I will be more than
willing to help. I think I can come up with several things not to try
if nothing else.

Supercharger on 2.2T block

A picture and some more insight would be great. The
SVX list that I am on would be interested in some sort
of supercharger setup. Right now the only performance
mode that I have read about on that list is Nitros.

Nue
95 SVX
91 Legacy turbo

It was pretty complicated everything had to be made by
hand the mounts
,belt system, pulleys, super charger to throttle body
ducting and the
intake. The whole works is probably for sale by the
person that
thought of the idea he still owns the car. If it were
me I would
inquire about the Vortech Supercharger they may have
an application
that is close and the noise problem might not be
something to contend
with as I believe that it is a centrifugal unit. This
setup was
fast when it was working. I might be able to come up
with a picture of
it if you would like.
