I saw that a guy on RS25 has a few JDM fill tanks that would be great for ditching your original one and relocating to where it is on the WRX.
Check my pics to see where I put mine. Better for clearance, and you lose the plastic tank.
I think I also saw them on ebay.

Yeah, I picked up a WRX metal one even though my stock one is in perfect shape. Metal = a ton less worrying about cracks.

You've just got to watch it on which generation metal one you get. The 02-03 Bugeye tanks have a crimped on top which blows the seal after a few years just like a radiator tank.
