Just wondering what the actual differance is between the pistons and rings.
I found a set of pistons on Ebay but they say they are for the ej22e motor.
are the pistons the same just higher compression? can I use these and run 15psi with out cracking the ring land or burning a hole in the top of the piston.
Pretty much asking if the 2.2t pistons forged or just normal stuff like the 2.2e stuff
Thanks
Tyson

I found this on the internet. I didnt know the 2.5 rods were good for anything. Whats the power rating for these rods?
also im just trying to do the fastest rebuild. I need the car running within a couple days.
I might just give the bores a quick hone and slap new rings in it for the time being. Might also install new bearings of course.
All this will happen with a set of dohc heads.

If your starting with a 2.2 turbo closed deck block you need the following to complete a stroker build:
Phase I DOHC Crank
Phase I DOHC Rods

We have been using the NPR (Nippon Piston Rings) for the NA 2.2 on the 2.2 turbo pistons for some time now with no issues.
Reddevil, Awaiting new heart, will it ever happen?

doug knows what works when it comes down too it. he's built meny motors and knows the in's and out's better then i know my own hands. just dont try to make turbo power with stock 22e pistons. it will end up with a boom.
