Does the 1990 Legacy have Internal egr? Just asking this since I seem to be getting exhaust gasses in my intake manifold :S

Sounds like you have internal EGR now!

Seriously...why do you think there's exhaust gas in your intake? Do you have any other odd symptoms, and if so what are they?

well, i have a coolant leak that produced a great deal of white smoke out the tail pipe, but I have also noticed this smoke inside the intake manifold (took off the pipe and looked inside).

White smoke has nothing to do with EGR in and of itself. A blown head gasket/cracked head can easily blow steam and coolant into the crankcase, which would then be pulled into the intake tract through the PCV system. Honestly, I would focus on your coolant leak!

Just to let you know, there is no such thing as an internal or external EGR. If there is, what vehicle has it? But yea, the white smoke or steam that is in your intake is most likely from coolant getting in to your crankcase. Then evaporating through the crank case ventilation system. Check under your oil cap and see if it looks milky. If it does your head gaskets are prolly bad. Or by some chance of luck, the coolant o-ring in the block decided to fail. Any who, the '90 legacy has no EGR system what so ever.
