FS: V2 STI intercooler and hood scoop

Post by dayrunner22 »

Like it says, a v2 slant-mount TMIC I need to get rid of. Not currently in my wagon but I included a pic for reference. I also have a matching scoop with shroud that I can include as well. I would like to get $200 for the lot, or whatever anyone is willing to give me for it.

Can you post a picture of the backside since that's clearly not a factory inlet?

That looks exactly like mine does, inlet included. Mine has a "motorsports use only" sticker on it. I figure it's either a really early STI, or possibly a "catalog" item. I can PM you pics Matt, if your doing research.

Sorry for the O.T.,........... bump! It's a much better flowing inlet than a standard "black slanty".

That's right PhyrraM, it's off a version 2 JDM STI that actually came out of a '96 donor car.

Matt, I can also send you pics if you are interested.

Sorry I haven't posted pics yet - I got busy in the yard all day and now I've got to go to work for a late shift. I will get them up tomorrow morning.

Greg,

To my knowledge it's not an avo pipe, but I do know it's the JDM pipe that was on the car when the swap was done.

The engine is a full ver. 2 STI - engine, tranny, and rear diff. I got into a fender-bender and took the opportunity to run a FMIC :D

Cool,
Thanks for the pictures. That's a factory aluminum inlet pipe with some sort of aftermarket silicon elbow replacing the plastic elbow. Let me know if you decide to move on that price. That's more than I am willing to pay, especially since all I actually need is the pipe.

My '95 STi Ra swap had this EXACT same Silver TMIC/elbow/connector.
I think this is a stock STi set-up as three of us have/had the same TMIC/elbow/silicone connector (PharraM's, this one, & mine).

The cast elbow is actually very nicely machined internally from the factory (has a taper to match smallish inlet to the larger diameter elbow body).

I sold mine on Rs25 - ? posting up there.

You are right BXSS this is the stock intercooler off a '96 V2 STI. I hadn't thought of listing it on Rs25 - I will have to check that out.

Bump for updates - someone in the Tacoma/Seattle area give me a decent offer and come and get this. I'm moving and need to clear out some ish.

Also, I have the following parts as well:

'90 LS bumper skin - this was resprayed a few years ago but has a few inch abrasion on the right corner from a run-in with a post

'90 bumper skin and beam - beat up but complete

'90 left fender - same as above

Make me an offer and come get this shit.

I have an 06/07 USDM WRX TMIC, would this be an upgrade? As in, is it's cooling efficiency higher than the USDM WRX?
