Alright So I bought 2 big blue bushings from RalliTEK (look at other thread "Would these bushings work?). I bought them without actually looking under the car to see which ones I really needed(dont ask why ) .
And the bushings I bought are not the problem, So now Ill have super high performance poly blue bushings (estimated 13whp gain over stock bushings) ha!
So while I was under the car today I started to wiggle the shift rod around and found the problem....
>Blue arrow is where the blue rallitek bushings will go
>Red arrows are the bushings I need... right? There are suppose to be bushings there?
>Where'd the bushings go? There arent any!!
Does anyone know the part number for these?
And replacing those would fix my sloppy floppy shifter?

I believe you cannot order those bushings. I think it's one piece and comes with bushings on it. I could be wrong. I ordered one. I'll get pictures and a part number for you this afternoon if I remember when I go to my parents house where my subaru is.

It has those stupid hard plastic bushings-that fell out.I ended up making some aluminum bushings to take their place on my lathe and it came out awesome (no play at all). You may not have a lathe but you might be able to find something at a hardware store or something that fits, bronze, aluminum, nylon, whatever. You may have to do some custom adapting top make something work if you dont find another unit altogether.
Worth it though-nothing better than a tight shifter.

Yeah man, I'll second that, if you want to mill a few out for us, I would definitely buy a set from you... My shift is getting pretty sloppy nowadays. (ok... who's gonna run with that one?)

I got a couple pictures of that part I was talking about and a part number and part numbers for all the other shift bushings and the spring and pin.
Don't have time to post them now, gotta go to work. I'll post them up when I get home in the morning.

Yep, that's the thread I used to find my part numbers when I ordered the bushings at the dealership.

I don't know if you need the joint or not. I think that joint on the right came with my shifter linkage from a WRX. I thought I read a thread a while back saying you need to buy the joint because the joint is welded together and you can't get it apart to replace the bushings. That's why I think I bought the joint in the first place.
It was several months ago and my project has been on hold so I forgot the exact details.

Nevermind I can't find anything in the parts catalog that shows any part of the shift linkage.
Maybe I'm just missing it but I just looked through it twice and found nothing. It's nowhere to be found in the transmission section I looked at every picture.
WTF
Anyways, that joint with the bushings already in it is for a WRX. That's why they're telling you it's not there. I just remembered the reason I bought the joint was because I bought a Group A short shifter which I found out only fit the WRX shift linkage. So I bought a WRX shift linkage and it needed those bushings replaced but it's welded closed so I had to buy the whole joint.
I would recommend getting the WRX shift linkage too because then you can buy the tougher aftermarket bushings that won't fall apart like I've heard the stock ones do. Plus I believe the shifter on the WRX is shorter than ours so that's kinda cool. If you're into that.
Or you can just call them up and tell them you want all the stock bushings for your car and make sure you get the spring if yours is worn out. I hear they get rusty and wear out or snap.

I'm going to pistol-whip the guy that began calling shifter mounts "bushings." The parts you get from Kartboy or RalliTek or whatever are shifter mounts. They are not bushings.
35047AC030 will only be useful to you if you're swapping to the new-style shifter. If you are staying with your old shifter, then it will not work.
Refer to this post in which I detailed the process of putting an 08 WRX shifter in my car. That will show you the difference. (I just uploaded all my pics to my Photobucket and fixed all the links, since the USMB apparently took my old pics down.)
If you want to replace the bushings in your old shifter, the only part numbers you will need are 35035AA030 and 35035KA030.
Shifter bushings are a hellacious and infuriating pain-in-the-ass by the way. You've been forewarned.
I guess i was only calling the big blue ones I got (which are #12 in the blown up picture) bushings, because everywhere I looked they all called them bushings.
Well I think I finaly know what I need to fix my floppy shifter, 35035AA030 and 35035KA030 (11 and 27 in the pic) which are the bushings that dont even exist anymore on my car.
