Forester Suspension on a BJ

Post by NW_Legacy »

I am newer to the forum and I have looked through many of the suspension threads and haven't really came up with a clear answer.

What do I need to swap in a Forester suspension into my girlfriends BJ?

I am looking to raise her car a little and heard this does. Plus her struts are on their last leg here.

I'm actually enjoying modding her BJ over my WRX at the moment because everything that is left to do is to expensive for my car

If anyone can give me a clear answer it would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a POSTto help and check out http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum.

Forester struts will give you a higher front than rear.
Here's a pic of MINE w/Forester FXT struts and 205-60R/16 tires, b4 i put on the WRX struts.

Go w/OB struts ('96-99) to get a more equal front/rear lift, IMHO. 205/75R-14 tires will fit and add another 1/2" of height. They're almost the same size as the stock OB/Forester 15'' tires.

The fronts will fit easily; the rear top hats will be needed from your BJ, as the top bolt pattern is different.
