What type of ignition system on EJ22T

Post by chaulker »

Hello,

I have a quick one this morning. Does the EJ22T out of a 91 SS use the 6/7 ignition system or the 36-2-2-2 system?

Thanks

Can you elaborate what you mean by 6/7 & 36-2-2-2 ignition system?

I'm pretty sure it's 6/7 (6 reluctor teeth on the crank sprocket, 7 on the cam sprocket).

Is that whatcha mean?

Thats exactly what I mean. I'm pretty sure the 36-2-2-2 is the older style system that doesn't use a cam sensor. (But I could be wrong)

Thats for all your help guys.

Yeah that's correct. I checked the factory manuals.
