Hey guys, I have looked and looked and haven't found an exact answer for this. I have an EJ22T block and EJ20G heads. Assuming both have not been shaved, what would I have to do to get around 8.5 to 9.1 compression? I can't find even the stock gasket thickness much less much info on the JDM heads.
Thanks

I have been doing some research on this since it is similar to my build...I am using the ej20h heads which are identical to the ej20g except for the plumbing for the twin turbo.
I have calculated the combustion chambers to be 52 cc's and stock heads to be 46.6 cc's.
As far as I have researched it will be impossible to get above 8:1 with just a thinner HG....more like close to 7.7:1.
A higher compression piston might have to be used to bump the compression higher.

Yeah I have heard with the stock HG it's 7.6:1. You can't really shave the heads so you need custom pistons. I know they make them, not sure how much it would cost though. I have this same setup and it's fine for high boost with lots of timing on this crappy 90 octane fuel in Alaska but once I get back to Minnesota and have access to E85 higher compression would be NICE! Especially since it's a rally build, I really need that compression because when the restrictor is fitted I won't get anymore than 21 PSI or 360 CFM through my turbo.

I had custom pistons made for my 2.2t stroker with 20K heads...there JE pistons with a 8.5:1 CR...talk to Dominic at http://www.maxwellpowerservices.com/
tell him what your wanting to do and he can hook you up...IIRC the pistons w/ coating ran me about $750
