LOL thanks man.

I think I'm going to slam it a bit more and add some negative camber to the wheels to give it a bit more of an aggressive look. Yeah?

Thanks man and no worries about hijacking. If I were you, I'd have him paint it satin black. It's like a gloss/flat mixture and it actually looks REALLY nice on most cars.

See - not flat, but not glossy.

DONT DO IT!

and it'll cost more than 50 bucks for a couple pints of flat black anyway. And when you do it, you'll have to sand it all back off to put decent paint back on top of it.

hmmm i think it looks sick.

DO IT. flat black is the first sign of a possibly very dangerous and sleeper sick ride.

Flat black is the first sign you were too cheap to get a proper paint job.

I prefer semi-gloss black myself. Flat is tired and done and turns gray in a short time anyway unless you constantly rub paint protectant or something into it and all I had was a flat black hood and trunk. Doesn't say sleeper anymore, either. Probably hasn't since the rat-rod days when guys built their own cars and the budget was a toss between looking good or going faster.

I almost bought a '69 Charger 440 in semi-gloss black and that was the scariest-looking car I've seen after the '67 Cadillac hearse in the same (both had originally been gloss that had dulled over the years). Far more menacing than flat black because it looked the devil's own car—slightly neglected, but still taken care of to keep it in shape—not just some cheap-skate that should be smart enough to sell it off at auction at the height of muscle madness than keep neglecting it. For the record, I didn't buy the Charger ($6000) only because the guy who owed money on it came up with it in time and the hearse I didn't buy because it was junk. Would've been a hell of a party wagon back in high school, but I did quite alright with the Subaru.

Half the fast-and-furious Honda Civics I see around here are flat black... it was cool once upon a time.

I would buy this 68 Caddy hearse in a heartbeat if it weren't such a rustbucket.

There was a 67 Caddy hearse on eBay a couple years ago that I think had a 750hp 502 big block in it, 400 turbo trans, and a gigantic supercharger sticking out of the hood. In beautiful shape too. It was without a doubt the baddest-ass car I've ever seen on eBay.

67 & 68 were the best with the shark nose. '67 was a little better because it had the larger mesh grille, but that's just barely, and the '68's had a larger engine. Would have been cooler if it were a side loader (big suicide doors), but it was a limo-style end loader (all windows as Miller-Meteor used the same bodywork for an ambulance version). The M-M body was scarier than that ebay S&S, I think, as the windows were smaller, making it even more menacing.

Looks super slick! I'll abstaine on the flat blacking the hood. I could go either way.

Oh. And Dibs on your old rims if you decide to sell them.

I apparently don't have a good picture of my hood, but if you look at the leading edge of the hood, you can kind of see what paint protectant every few weeks does. It's still about a 90% gray.

Paint looks awesome! It's like the color mine would be if you took out all the weird color tints that I don't like about it. Wheels look fine, personally I'd prefer an inch smaller, but it's not my car, the white matches okay too.

As for the guy asking about flat black, if you're paint's in bad shape what do you have to lose? But do satin black or semi gloss, flat just looks like black primer.
