Rear suspension, sway bar attachment to lateral link

When did the change take place for the attachment of the rear sway bar links
from the Pin in a box droplink to the U shaped link? I was under the
impression that it was in 1992 however someone told me it was in 1995.

I converted my 90 legacy over in order to use the Whiteline HD links in the
rear. It was suggested that I use the lateral links from a newer Subaru but
instead I used the MRT adjustable in order to get more camber and toe
control plus new bushings.

In Australia, the rear link that had the steel rod, was up to and inc 9 /1992. From 10/1992 it changed to the plastic U links ( same as the front links)
