GT-B
I have been following your thread with considerable "pain". Wow you have indeed been through all the pain with that project.
I am in Ireland and I have just started a project on a GT-B Twin Turbo Wagon (JAP). It did in a bottom end which is to be expected on this engine at 60k, most likely previous owner really didn't understand that the JAP imports have intercoolers rated at 112mph, anyway I wanted to purchase a car with a blown engine and start from scratch.
I have done a lot of research on the engine and looked at many stories similar to yours with engineering workshops companies, sadly there are too many bad stories and many ending up in litigation.
I have instructed a company in south UK called Scooby Projects who have prooved to me that they are well capable to take my project and deliver it back to me 110% sorted with a range of high value engineering and parts, this is part of the engine rebuild list to bet me into the 450BHP capability should I want to increase power:
Mahle Forged Pistons/Rings and Cometic 1.3mm Head Gaskets
STI9 Nitrided Crank inc ACL Bearings
ARP Headstuds
Manley Steel Conrods
Modified Oil Pump 11mm gears (Genuine Subaru)
Oil Modine (Geniune Subaru)
Sump Kit
Cambelt Kit
Engine Build Gaskets
Spec-C Engine Block
Oil Filter
Water Pump
Engine Sealer
Assembly Past
I will be using the closed deck Spec C block which is the preferred option
I really do appreciate all the problems with your project so far, its been a long road and your efforts to post your experience will be very valuable to many others out there who should read up all these types of valuable stories and do the research first before pressing any buttons with engineering workshops.
I look forward to the next phase of your story and I will keep you posted on my project which has only just started.
Best Wishes from Ireland
Paul
PS: check out this site where my car will be featured as a project.

I understand what its cost you in time alone not to mention asshole engineering workshops.iluvdrt wrote:I believe it is around 3500. Long story but he had to pay for the engine build 2x. We assembled the top end and intake.
I may need to up-rate my Auto box for 400BHP plus...! do you know what I need to consider for this work, and do you know where I can get the parts
Cheers
Paul
If you have an Auto trans the only place I know that can build them good is IPT. It would be about 4600 USD for the rebuild though. They are good for about 5-600 hp.
Other news, the RS wagon is running, but we lost the tune with a battery change. It is now running like crap again. We need to find someone who is familar with the Rallitek P6 tuner so we can load another map onto it.
The last pass it made tuned was 190 hp/260TQ at 8 PSI. Hopefully we can get this dialed in.
