i think the title say it all
i am starting to look around and i would like to know which engine i could drop in

Subaru Legacy GT JDM EJ20TT EJ20 Twin Turbo Engine, sti, etc...

btw you must have a look at this legacy lol

Have you researched what engine you want? Physically any EJ engine fits, and technically any EJ can be wired up. So you should figure out what you want first.

There are QUITE a few threads on peoples experience with swapping different engines. But the easiest would be the EJ20G for you, just read up on people's swap and build threads.

The stock EJ22T is a pretty capable motor. You could look for JDM EJ20Gs, they can work with little to no modifications to the stock ECU because they are really similar in design.
-'97 Outback - EJ25 block/pistons/HLA heads, EJ22T crank/rods/ECU, EJ20G intake manifold/fuel rails/440cc injectors, VF8 @ 11psi. . . . Fuel cut > me
