Jdm 4 piston brakes

Post by sleepinsuby »

I have a 94 ss that I purchased recently that came with 4 piston front calipers.. they are jdm. I have spent the last two weeks searching the net, and buying and takin back usdm brake pads trying to find ones that fit. Anyway Im tryin to figure out what jdm cars came with 4 piston calipers that will bolt on to our cars. I think it is the jdm legacy or the jdm Impreza. Or can anyone positively identify the calipers I've got? I've tried pads from 06 Wrx and 06 sti pads. They're similar to the sti pads but for a smaller rotor. I can take a picture if you need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Have you tried '90-'95 300Z twin turbo pads? I seem to recall a few post that indicate they may be the same as the JDM 4pots.

Failing that maybe you can try trading them to a "JDM whore fanboi" for a set of '06-'07 WRX 4 pots?

I'm sure some of the established Subaru shops can source the proper pads also. I would search/ask on rs25 or Nasioc.

They should be the same as '06-'07 WRX calipers. How did they not fit? Pics would help.

Pad-wise they might be the same, but they are not the same caliper. The main caliper body is the same, but the "ears" for mounting are not in the same spot. There is about a 1/4" difference.

sorry i didnt say everything about the damn calipers, but he has the FHI calipers so i didnt think it would have to be said. :smt019

they are the same cailper made by the same company. you have to get adapters because the nissan rotors are 5mm bigger than subaru rotors, so that means the ears are a pub hair longer.

Pads for toyota landcrusier fit and are interchange options for the 4pots. I belive early 90's ,92-94 was the years i think i work in a part store and they were very very close with subtle diffrences.

Tire rack sells pads for "non US Subaru 4 pot calipers" for the 2.5rs.
Or 06-07 WRX TR pads will work
