After searching the threads on how to change my cv axle boot, I came across some really helpful threads. It helped me out a lot trying to change this thing out.
It is the outer axle boot on my passenger side front. Basically, I have pulled the entire axle out in order to install this new boot. For some reason, I can't figure out how to put this thing on the axle. I just cut the old one off, but now I am confused on how to put this thing on.
What am I missing? I know the shaft comes out somehow so that I can slide the boot on I guess, but I don't know where to begin.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you to everyone and their threads for the help on this project.

The axle shaft has a c lip on the end inside the tulip. When i do it i put the shaft itself in a vise and hit the cv end away from it with a hammer-which causes the c clip to compress into the little bit of play that it has. Some of them can take a good hit to get off,but that metal is rugged so dont worry too much, just dont hit the inner cage itself.Once apart it will be a good idea to clean the cv real good as well.Putting it back together is basically jus that in reverse.
94SS.Wiseco forged pistons,TD04,TMIC,WALBRO 225,440's,3" all the way, revtronix stage 2,enough other crap to fill the internet.

Thank you very much! So, I just hit the cv end away from the shaft to give a little bit of room to take the c clip off? Is that it?

put everything back together....went for a ride....now i am feeling vibration in the front passenger side.
I think the entire axle needs replacing now since I didn't catch the torn boot in time. I have made sure everything is tight around the hub, caliper, etc. When I turn the axle shaft slowly back and forth, I can hear a clamour inside the outer part of it....like it is loose or something. It clanks again and again as I move the axle shaft. The other side doesn't make a noise.
Am I right that I need a new axle shaft? Advice on where to get one quick?
Thanks guys!
