Re: Zach's ABM 94 TW of Doom (
I Called AEM today and they want me to check and see if i can manually trigger the outputs (coils).
i will try this and post up my findings but im afraid that i may have to sent the box into AEM for their testing and diagnosis .
Brydon, I could definitley try that. the guy at AEM today that i talked to recommended that i do all the hardware testing before i do map testing/verification. I got more stuff in my binder i will add in here in a bit and i will respond to your email.

Re: Zach's ABM 94 TW of Doom (
SOOOOOO update:
i got in touch w AEM this week and my tuner, and a local wiring pro named Bryant that had alot to say about the situation, and he evidently knew someone that knows about my specific AEM board and they basically said i should send it back to them to have it checked out. ..
before i send it off i decided to tear it open (since its not under warranty...etc) these are the results:
so looking at the image above you can clearly see that this stuff is not connected and got shorted out or something somehow... most likely from black car incident ...
So my options are to go ghetto an solder it back together and see if it works or send it to AEM, and im definitely going to send it to AEM. the corrosion seems to be in the same spot as where the outputs on the AEM are for sending signal to the coils for cylinder 2 and 4 ... oddly enough. so basically i am thinking that i drove back from Oregon on 2/3 cylinders and tuned the car on 2 because of this business.
at least i have finally isolated the problem and learned a ton in the process... now all thats left is to send the box to AEM and see what they say regarding the issue, and HOPEFULLY HOPEFULLY HOPEFULLY that its a simple fix and not.. well it should be obvious.
thoughts....?

Glad you figured it out. Must have been a lot of unneeded frustration.

Re: Zach's ABM 94 TW of Doom (
Kimo, yeah alot of sadness. just to add to all that i can't easily run an OEM wrx ECU in the car at all because of sensor bizness... which was going to be the fallback but yeah.. im sending the unit off today to AEM to look at so they can say "ß♫◄ZOMFGWTFFF♫Σα"
what helped more than anything is my friends that said "if you part ill be at your door with a mustache and disguise" hahaha

Re: Zach's ABM 94 TW of Doom (
I haven't driven it yet, I'm waiting for a corrected map from my tuner because it idles at 10 afrs which is way rich.
It sounds soooo swEet. Black car never sounded like this and after getting this car back it never sounded like this either.
I can't wait!

Re: Zach's ABM 94 TW of Doom (
The (main) problems were:
1. The corroded pin inside the AEM (see pic above) that killed the actual ground for the aem... which affected both the timing and the spark signal that was sent to the coilpacks.
2. THE COILS FOR CYLINDER 2 AND 4 WERE REVERSED!?!?!?!? This was done by the person that swapped everything from black to new car, and was overlooked by myself until recently when we thought about it. Ridiculous right? so essentially the computer was sending spark signal from to cylinder 2 that was actually hitting cyl 4... and signal for cyl 4 was going to cylinder 2.
Props to everyone that helped me with this, you know who you are and I'm grateful for your assistance.
video/pix/more to come after i update the firmware to .19 again tonight and verify the new map from my tuner tonight.
I'll have a new soob very soon!

Re: Zach's ABM 94 TW of Doom (
I primerd it so its not white anymore.
I'm most likely going to do it after I decide to roll with a N/A hood and paint that or fix my hood scoop setup so that its
Mad flush with the hood and then paint that too.

Re: Zach's ABM 94 TW of Doom (
basically sanding alot of a regular SS legacy grill and cutting all the center pieces off of it, then putting the mesh of your choice behind it.
I spray painted mine Midnight Black Metallic all over then put the Legacy emblem in the center for added awesomeness
