A Good Friend's Subaru (9's?) ........

Post by 93forestpearl »

'99 Impreza RS Coupe with ton's o' Stuff. 257, full bottom with CP's, etc, 1600cc injectors, Hydra, Aeromotive Eliminator, Corn, blah blah blah. BorgWarner S366 mounted in the foglight area. Twinscroll manifold from Fobiawrx. Fully built 4EAT from Derek (Whitelegacyguy).

The car makes 450whp and 600 lb-ft of torque. The turbine housing is small, thus the high torque and low hp readings. No dyno plots yet, but we have a pretty sweet video taken by Derek.

The shop owner and guy who tuned the car thinks it is capable of 9's, since it will wax his Evo 8 capable of 10's. It should be fun to see him booted off the track first run without a cage, lol.

LOL dyno plot.

He really could use a larger turbine housing. His torque converter might not be loose enough to make boost on the line quick enough though.Image

The auto is a Phase 1 4EAT that has been highly modified for drag racing. Among a ton of other things, it has a full manual, reverse pattern, trans-brake valve body. The only electrical components in the transmission control the 4WD and the trans-brake.

It will handle 1000whp without issue. Rigoli runs 7's on a closely related setup.
