Need new tranny options/info?

Have a 91 ss with a 4eat needs new sensors ie speedomotor/odomptor everwhere that ive called quoted me $900-1500... Figured i might as well convert to a manual, which tranny would be a good choice? 02up usdm wrx? Jdm wrx/sti? Soo many options and i dont know much about transmissions, any help/advise would be much appreaciated thanks in advance

05 up LGT 5mt, or 06 up WRX are the stronger 5mt's, if your not planning on making a ton of power a n/a 5mt will work fine if you dont beat the crap out of it....

Well its the speedo/odomotor cable.. Subaru dealerships.quoted me $850-1200

What!! For just the cable? That's BS. The cable is not that much, and you should be able to replace it yourself with a little work.
