About $1000 for a shop to do it, replacing the timing belt, bearing assembly, tensioner, front covers/cam seals...

Whoa! I never thought that replacing the timing belt would cost that much on a shop. Well, my uncle is planning to bring his vehicle on a workshop to have it replace but knowing that it is quite expensive, I think I'll suggest to my uncle of using a subaru timing belt kit instead and have it replace it ourselves which I think is much cheaper compare to a thousand bucks. Anyway, I'm gonna let my uncle know immediately before he regrets that expensive cost.

It's pretty easy, and since the stock EJ22T is non-interferance you won't break stuff if the timing is off, lol.
