Re-added the snorkel to keep snow and water out of my intake and out of the motor.

Strut Tower Brace installation, Grounding Mod, grille paint, badge paint.

Tried to install the alternator, but i don't have the right cable to finish the power up. I went and got an inline circuit breaker from interstate battery, but then i realized i didn't have the right sized terminals to crimp to it, and additionally, even if i had, they wouldn't fit on the post of the alternator from manic electric. So i ended up taking the breaker back and just ordered a wire kit from maniac.

installed 06 WRX springs all around. Tried to install struts from an AWD wagon into the 90 FWD and they will not work. atleast the rears will not. installed the front springs by using the top spring perch from the WRX with the top hat from the 90. a good improvement. fells tighter and stiffer.

More or less finished the long block yesterday. Got the timing belt buttoned up, and put the exhaust manifolds, up-pipe, & turbo on.

Played in the snow, tire burning on my driveway and one slide that put me in the next driveway down the street. And put some gas in.

Hi guys,

Great thread. Im very curious as to how you did that with the turbo. I really want to do some painting to some parts of my engine bay but Im not sure as to how to safely remove and re-install parts. Also my baby seems to have a different setup so i think I will post pix of my engine bay and have guys chime in on what they see...Does anyone know if any of these !st gens came with an FMIC-coz ithink mine has one..

Inline with the topic, I was going through the forum and came across the ECU reset procedure. Figured its free and needs no parts so why not....Best thing ever. My car is running soooo smooth now I can hardly believe it. While at it I decided to work on my sunroof coz it was leaking..Found a piece of wire and unclogged the two front drain holes( Although I couldn't go very far in).. The rubber had a tear in it caused by the deflector thingy being broken on the r/h side..Decided to remove it so now my sunroof works fine but I would like to know the function of that thing. I'm assuming it just deflects airflow slightly up so that by the time the aerodynamic flow settles back on the roof, it has cleared the sunroof opening????

Played in the snow. Might be more later today, maybe pricing a 2.5 block from a forester. Forgot to add I put in a temporary stero, a Panasonic cd/radio/ aux input, wattage is 45x4 so max of 180, I have my eyes on a Sony from Wal Mart for $124.

Apparently I just bought a bugeye center console for it. I have no idea how much or if I'll be using any of it, but it was damn cheap and had the sti gear surrounding which I was looking for.

Took the snow tires off and put my regular ones on and my steering wheel vibration came back leading me to believe the wheels are out of balance, and I switched to the smaller driving lights that I first put on the car and took the seven color leds from the bigger lights and but them into the headlights where the city lights would be on EDM healights but my lights are mounted to the lenses. It looks pretty good but kinda ricey.

I did a bunch of stuff today:
Replaced my throwout bearing with a TSK sleeve kit thing, fixed my rattly shifter bushings with some plastic mcmaster parts, put in an afi turbo billet pitch stop. Fuck that pitch stop makes things loud. Still need to replace an inner tie rod, install a new fender liner, align the car, rotate the tires, fix my leaking steering rack and pump, and probably some other stuff.

Ha, just noticed I've been a member of this forum for exactly 7 years. Glad it's still going.

Upgraded to a metal WRX coolant tank, now I've gotta find a better way to attach it than letting it rest on the A/C line with zip-ties stopping it from sliding around...

Installed a skid plate, getting ready to install WRX 294mm rotors with willwood calipers. Also getting ready to install GC rear lateral links and a whiteline swaybar with links bushings and stout mounts. Pondering installing a Tribeca FSB and bushings...

Well it was yesterday but I forgot to post it here. I re-added all the wires for my sub and amp because I found a box with subs at Goodwill, subs are not blown and its a dual sub set-up, I got it for twenty bucks and can't be happier with the sound, I also added a Domo air freshener. Today I played in the mud and drove through town afterwards.

Didn't do much other than a fwd tire smoking and cleaning the mud off the front windows. I need to get the fwd fuse out now and try to convince my dad to let me put the new hood on.
