Pedal Assembly Removal

Post by SubyFusion »

Does anyone know of a write-up on how to remove the pedal assembly?

You don't remove anything but the pedal assembly aside from the lower dash panel. From memory there are four bolts that go through the firewall to the brake booster. Un-bolt those and pull the booster/master cylinder away from the firewall under the hood. Another bolt goes straight up above the gas pedal. Un-plug the brake switch and the clutch switch (unless you have an auto ) and pull! :P

Oh yeah, I've been playing with these NA's so much latelely, I forgot about that possibility! I have removed the pedal assembly out of my '91 SS, and I do remember having to pull the steering column out, sorry. I've never pulled a dash yet, so I know you don't have to resort to that to get it out.

Undo the bolts on the steering column so it'll drop down a little bit. Then the pedal box should have enough room to slide over it... so I seem to recall from removing one last year.
