td04 questions

Post by Subiel94 »

I have a td04 i have everything I need but I wanted to replace the copper washers on the coolant and oil lines. Where do everyone here get them? I have everything except for those new washers. All help would be appreciative.

Josh has the factory service manual with all the part numbers on his website: surrealmirage.com . I would look it up for you but i'm on my cell and it won't let me download it. It is something handy to have so i'd download it if i were you.

I'm pretty sure I'm using vf-11 hardlines with my td04 but I could be mistaken. Why not take the bolt(s) to say Lowes or Ace hardware and match it with copper rings?

I would but that's the problem I can't find anything close to the same size... This is like the only thing I need left to do to my car to finish the swap...

When i first did my swap i bought one of those kits and i've been using it for almost a year now, no problems. I've had my turbo on and off every other month too and reused the washers, still no leaks or problems. So, you should be fine.

Alright sweet thanks! That makes me feel a little bit better about buying the kit now. I got all the coolant lines with all the washers the turbo gaskets that connect to the exhaust. A stainless steel braided oil line and the oil return on the bottom of the turbo. All new i forget what they are called now but the bolts for the coolant and oil lines. I feel like I'm missing something. But there was a lot and it was only 55 that's including shipping. So I couldn't resist really. I'm anxious to get my car back running! Now all I need to do to finish is new valve cover gaskets, and I'm gonna do the silencer delete. Then All new coolant and do a oil change. :) and it will be all ready. Can't wait. I'm excited!

So I hooked it all up. Got rid of my turbo silencer. It sounds great! But I drove it and well I maxed the injectors and maf just driving it. I didn't know want was going on. So I putted home going 20.... Totally embarrassing. Then i noticed i didnt have my wastegate solenoid hooked up. So i Hooked it back up. But see my question is what do I do? I unhooked the battery and let it sit for about an hour hooked it back up and it idled rough and I drove it only meeting 5psi.... And it was driving real rich and crappy... So what should I do?

Well I figured I did so that's why I unhooked the battery. And reset the ecu. They would be fixed now right?

i just did this swap. The lines are almost i idnetical. I mean there are slightly different bends but i used the stock vf-11 oil line and slapped that bad boy on the td04 ( I did not have the td04 line so i had to make it work, but it was seriously like 99% close enough). You do have to twist it a tiny bit to get it to fit I did not have to mod it in any way. I just used some 200 grit sand paper i had laying around and rubbed the washers a little bit so the mating surface would be clean. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am, no leaks.
