I got the adjustment covered in my plan. I'm planning to totally gut the Legacy light, taking the reflector out, adjusters, and cutting the whole back off while leaving the mounting studs in place. Then to fit the Impreza lights, I'm gonna leave them on the factory backing plate that has the adjusters in it already and have the adjusters and such coming out of the back of the now gutted Legacy light housing. I'm basicly gonna make my stock lights into headlight deletes then cut some stuff off the Impreza lights and mount them in the empty Legacy housing. Yeah its gonna be a long process but it can be done and I don't mind putting that much work into an 18 year old car.

I did the tail lights with the 3M kit today after 93forestpearl ripped on me for not doing them when I did the headlights. I haven't taken a pic yet but they turned out great. So the 3M kit did 2 headlights, 2 turn signals, 2 tail lights, and a rear garnish. Most of the sand paper is shot, especially the trizact sheet. Ran out of rubbing compound right when I finished. Overall it was a great investment. Up next I'm going to trim black my wiper arms/side mirrors and probably do the orange removal from the tail lights.

Head unit's been acting up so I had to order a new one. It's been like ten years, so I guess it was about time.

Danny: That should be awesome! Make sure you take pictures of the progress.

Deride: I did mine on my wagon and they turned out really nice looking. It's been
well over a year and they still look awesome.

originalcyn: Yeah, it happens. Still sucks though when it does.

Sanded down both headlights with 1000 grit, than 2000 grit, than using some plastic cleaner/polish took the electric buffer to them. the transformation is amazing!

Are those from the Outback? They look like the ones I put in my RS.
Your console looks a lot different than mine though.

Nice post count by the way ;)

The box is in an Outback lol. Hence the different center console and extra outlets.

Got my new clutch master cylinder in the 1991 today, gonna bleed it tomorrow. Hopefully its not the slave that's bad as the WRX master cylinder wasn't cheap.

It came from ebay. I think the seller is Crusing Daytona but I'm not totally certain.

So I got this today at a yard sale for five bucks. Pretty good deal if you consider what it is and that all I gotta do is make a mounting arm thingy.

Made in Lynnwood too!!! :-D

So to get ready to install the mounting brackets I had to do this.... O.o

The big stuff I took out. Hardest to take out of the car had to be the head liner, it was a pain to take out the right rear door.

Does anyone know if this is normal?
Image

I also now know how to disable one door light the hard way. Start with this.

And unhook the connecter to get this.

Sometimes that step light bugs me cause my battery is getting tired and I don't wanna push it very much.

I really wish I had either gray trim to replace the tan with or canadian seatbelts, headliner, and all supporting trim in grey. It would be nice to ditch most of the tan. Tan=Image

FINALLY got my motor pulled out today. I did the valve cover gaskets/grommets, clutch/PP/ LW FW, Motor mounts (my stock ones were completely ripped into two pieces!!!!!!!!) tranny mount, WRX shift linkage/new bushings and deleted the AC, as well as put my revtronix stage 2 chip back in. Tomorrow is tranny/diff fluids, putting on my KYB AGXs/Whiteline springs and KYB Top hats, and new ball joints, one of mine is SHOT, i figure I might as well do both since i'm doing suspension anyways

was gonna do the timing belt kit/water pump/ t-stat, but whoever did the t-belt last broke the slot that the pin goes in on the tensionor so I need a new one before I can do it. Was also gonna do rear main seal and the oil seperator plate but neither of them were leaking and the seperator plate wasn't plastic, meaning somebody must have swapped for the new style already.

Overall I think everthing went fairly well for my first time pulling a motor. I know I have a vac/boost leak somewhere that I will investigate tomorrow, and the CEL keeps coming on and off randomly so I will check that tomorrow as well, but the car drives fine. Holy god is it nice having a clutch again, and the shifter set-up is so much different I can't believe it

Put the interior back together with the brackets for the mirror installed and a new air filter as the "washable" one was damn dirty even after being washed.

Glued in the piece of my mirror that broke off when i was retarded and hit it on the side of the garage. I cannot find any body panels or pieces in my color so the option to glue back together is pretty much the best one i had.

Josh, i've been using plastidip, or what ever that stuff is called on the chrome piece on the grilles i've been working on. It seems to work, but it hasn't gotten any real wear and tear time yet. Everyone tapes out the chrome trim with that super 88 tape, which i've had good luck with. I've had all mine taped out for slightly more than a year and it still looks fine. At very least the chrome on the grille trim is a veneer or something, i didn't realize that when i tried to have one of those thing powder coated as a test. Needless to say it went very poorly.

I don't know....I just don't like the tape thing. I could always take off the trim and paint it black....I don't see why that wouldn't work too.
