Has a really rough car shaking idle thanks to the Delta 230's
I had to stop in Battle Ground Washington to get food.
Haltech E8 engine management that I plan on installing whenever I get the chance.
I'll take some pics under the hood when it's light out again.

Josh, are you running a MAP sensor with your Link? If so where did you locate the sensor? I want to run the Haltech 3 bar MAP sensor.

Yes, all the fueling is MAP based. I added a port on the bottom front part of the intake manifold. I also added an IAT to the intake manifold since I'm running an AWIC top mount setup.
Just to note, I used my old manifold as a "test" manifold, so that's why you see a couple different setups. The pics towards the end where the IAT & map fitting are straddling the center line of the intake manifold is where they are installed currently.
Thanks Josh. This is extremely help full. The Haltech requires an IAT sensor so I will just locate it in the same position as yours.

They are very reasonably priced and uses GM/Delphi sensors and connectors that you can customize yourself.
If you have a spare manifold, I'd suggest "test" tapping because there's not a ton of material in the manifold, so it'll help in getting your depth just right with the tap since the thread type is NPT.
Also, make sure to use the yellow teflon tape which is oil & gas resistant.
Okay I will do that. I have a spare manifold on my parts N/A motor that I can mess with. I'll post some pics up in the next few days whenever I order the parts. I think I will end up getting a TD05 16 or 18G. When I bought the TD04 I had not made plans on going full standalone anytime soon. I also plan on making full custom stainless exhaust but I am unsure on what diameter to use yet.

hey OP, how's the car doing? i'm doing my pass side head in the car. did you have too difficult of a time with the head bolts? i cracked mine loose, but can't get them to turn any more than that.

Mine came off really easy after they broke loose. Car runs better then it did before. Do you know if they have been off before? Someone could have lock tighten them on.

nope. got 'em off. pretty easy actually with a breaker bar. they just creaked a lot more than i would have thought. someone over on nasioc told me subie head bolts are usually creaky and twisty, so i just went for it. they came out nice. now i'm trying to find the right headgasket.

I used Fel-Pro MLS head gaskets. I have had no problems with them. Fel-Pro has a kit they sell with a bunch of other gaskets in it just for our cars. The thickness was the same also.

I have decided to hold off on the install of the stand alone. I still plan on using it. As of now my transmission is going to need to be replaced. I am positive that the torque converter is toast. The car goes into "empty space" around 3k-4k at full throttle. The car will keep accelerating a great deal more but the rpm's stay the same. Now in the morning or after the car has been sitting for a number of time it doesn't like to shift out of 1st. This is not torque converter related. The transmission is not throwing a code. I want high horsepower around 350-400 wheel HP. The amount of money it would cost to build an engine with all forged internals would be 3k+ (all Cosworth). I am leaning towards a Twin sequential EJ20 from a 90's legacy GT. If I recall those engines don't fit well in a LHD Legacy. The thing is one can be picked up for around 1600 with a 5 speed and the complete engine with everything. This will be an enormous project. This will not be my first project of this sort. On the plus side I get to put the EJ22T in my bus instead of the N/A I bought lol.

I have decided to keep the EJ22T engine. I am working a deal out with another member for a 5 speed transmission. right now the front main seal is pouring oil out of it so this will be my Monday night project. On my next pay check I plan on installing the stand alone but in the mean time I will be ordering some tuning books.
Josh, if you would like to move this to the build thread then feel free.
I just realized I spelled Legacy wrong! LOL

The first book you listed is pretty good. I will tell you this though....understanding the theory behind tuning and actually tuning are two completely different things. It's a freaking art form! I understand the theory and what everything does, and where things need to be, but I'm not too good at the actual tuning.
I've added you to the projects group, so you can start a new thread in the build forum when you want. Please check out the build forum rules before posting.
