Subaru Legacy L Wagon shift linkage on a 91 SS

Looking for a shorter throw shifter, found a 2000 Subaru Legacy L Wagon Shift linkage was wondering if it will fit my 5spd 91 SS and if it is worth it, having a hard time finding a wrx shift linkage and was hoping to find a cheap alternative. What do you thing?

The newer legacy linkage should work. As with the WRX linkage you will need to swap out the older style joint and hardware to the newer style.

So I am clear, I will have to modify the newer legacy linkage as well with that 2 pipes welded together in a + looking peice

Does the 2000 Legacy shifter linkage look like this?

If it does, you do not need to modify the shifter linkage.

You do however need to replace the stock joint with this new style joint & bolt.
