Installed a clean iacv yesterday and got the parts to fix the broken plastic tee. Haven't done anything today but I'm hoping to give it a start today. Really hoping I don't see a bunch of smoke this time... and I sure hope the idle is smooth too.

After finishing hooking everything up, I start it and idle goes to 2k then drops and it dies. went through that about three times. Then I get it to stay running (foot on the gas) and BAM cel is on. Code 23, MAF. So I'm gonna hunt for one locally first and se what I come up with. Hopefully this fixes it. It didn't smoke very much either so I don't think the valve seals are shot. I should get the plugs changed though, they are from '09 I believe.

got my '93 back today!
$1650 - new trans, new y tube, fresh oil.

the bent y tube was stumbled upon on accident, but it turned out to be the cause of several un-diagnosed problems!
good day for the subie.

i installed struts/springs from a '05 saabaru, and rear strut tower bar over the weekend. the car is raised up about 1" in the rear and 0.5 inch in the front. but it rides so much better and i dont care about not having the lowered look.

also fixed the water leak in the trunk, and changed the oil and trans fluid.

also added my new license plates: "BC7DY8Z"

What did you have to do to fix that? I've got moisture in my trunk and I'm getting really annoyed with it.
I'm gonna try some MAF cleaner and see if it fixes my cel for the MAF. Hopefully it works or helps.

Oooh that sucks, man. Similar to the damage on my car right now from that damn snow storm. But mine isn't that bad in that area but the windshield is broken and there's dents in the roof and spoiler and trunk as well and they totalled it.

I got everything but the hood for $72, but the core support is a little bent in there so I need to play with it to get the headlight to fit, and all of the mounting hardware was broken so I need to buy that too...

I drove it!!! She lives on yet again! "New" MAF, IACV, and injectors all from local junkyards. And the best part is the prices I got. Injectors, $20. MAF, $25. IACV, $20. Grand total of $65 to get my car running right. I went through a quarter tank of gas in an hour. Just driving the hell outta her. :D

Yea that makes my passenger side fender, driver side headlight, fender, and corner light, hood, and lip(which is still good enough to run but I knocked it off and cracked some of it) in the last couple months...

I got those same bulbs. They last for a really long time. They were put in back when my sister was driving my '93, so probably late '06/ early '07. One of them had gone out but the other is still fine and its seen some really rough driving and roads. I can't say if theres an improvment since I've been using them since I got the car.

Seafoam in the gas tank, Fabreeze on the seats and door cards, super 88 for the gussets. Might help? Dunno.

Now sea foam the intake and crank case! I just did this morning. New PCV valve too and I fixed my PCV leaking hoses and I picked up a up pipe gasket once I saw sea foam smoke coming out of it. I'll put that on tomorrow maybe and install my new replacement STI lip.

Got a lot done in one morning. Felt good. Also put my original multiswitch wiper and turn signal stalks back on because the one I got at the junkyard with intermittent settings was garbage and didn't work. Then I moved my gauges to my vent. Just need to fab up the beauty panel to mount them in and my interior will look great. Now, if only I had black interior, black carpets, black 04 WRX solid headrest seats and black floor mats...and a flocked dash...and a better steering wheel...and EJ257... :)

i wish i did something to my car but i dont feel motivated to do anything to a car that has no motor. i need a sti ra ej20g motor like yesterday. the one i was going to buy last night sold so now im a sitting duck. this sucks not having a car. the only thing i have is my truck and that kills me in gas. my 07 lgt has bad tabs and im selling it so i dont want to buy tabs for it. my tow truck is too big and has no plates because they havent come yet. my prelude has no motor and hasnt been licensed since 06. my 58 impala will never see rain so i can forget that. fml!!!!

But my light bar back on yesterday.... That was the biggest pain in the ass ever! Anything that could slow me down did. First I tucked the excess wiring under the bumper cover then forgot to put the headlight back on. After that I forgot the little things that hold the cover to the beam, then I forgot that the wires have to go through the grille. Then I had to fight the grille to get it all the way on, only to have to pull it offa bit to get slack for the wires. What a damn pain it was. Took me almost an hour... Normally it only takes like ten minutes.
