Yes, i'll have to go buy some tomorrow sometime.

Update, just pulled my old FCD off, and it looks like the capacitor blew up. I'm going to solder a new one on and see if it's still salvageable. If it is, one of these will be for sale.

It clamps the output voltage on the map sensor at 4.7-9v so that the ecu doesn't see 5 volts from the map sensor. When the map sensor on a turbo legacy sees more than 12.7lbs (5v) boost, it enables fuel cut therefor killing the motor. In order to run more boost on a turbo legacy ecu, you need to have a fuel cut defender.

Reminds me... I need to pick up some 14's for the next time I pull the motor. My 2.5 ton hoist doesn't lift it high enough now and I have to wrestle with the motor to get it out of the engine bay.

Went to pick up a hood scoop from 2.2TLegacy. Then picked up some engine clear coat to hit the decals on my calipers.

That's possible, but who knows. I have a toggle switch to turn the blower motor on.

Anyways, today I finally did my rear driver's side wheel bearing, MUCH MUCH better. Also got rid of the rear ABS sensors and tightened up my e brake lines. Very satisfied now.

Ended up replacing all the hardlines on my garage compressor too, no more leaks in the lines from the pump to the tank. Contemplating mounting my ecu correctly. Right now my spare is zip tied to the column. seeing as i have 2 working ecus now, i may sell one.

Went from a turbo 3-port charcoal canister to a 2-port. My ej20g ecu doesn't control the purge control solenoid, so by removing all that stuff and simplifying, as well as putting clamps on almost all my vacuum hoses, I was able to bring the vacuum at idle to 20 from a varying 12-16. Butt dyno says the engine revs smoother and turbo spools slightly faster, as well as less boost spiking.

Hmmmm....Do you think mine controls it? I've been thinking about ditching the charcoal canister all together again. Don't like it. Takes up space and looks ugly and doesn't seem to make much, if any difference whatsoever.

Any EJ20G ECU doesn't have logic for controlling the purge solenoid.

Mike, so how do you have the charcoal canister hooked up? Is it just collecting the vapors from the gas tank and not being drawn into the engine to burn or are you running an auxiliary type purge setup?

Hi Josh, it is connected in the same manner as the N/A's (and ej20g), with a check valve on the larger port on the canister.

Not my car, but here's what I'm talking about (an ej20g setup):
