how is that even a comparison. More hp, more torque, less miles, AWD, newer, and lighter for only 700 bucks. The fact that he even wanted to buy the passat is silly, dont get me wrong i love vw's and most german cars for that matter but that comparison i just dont get.

Sorry for the hijack :\

Nah its cool. we started as a group for the 1st gen legacys, but we've got a few impreza owners w/ turbo swaps and 2g legacy guys hanging out.. we've got to live up to "Legacy Central," don't we?

the legacy forum over on nabisco...I mean nasioc has more 2nd gen legacy owners, but like jason said....we've got a variety of people/cars here, and still have enough knowledge we could probably help ya out with a problem or two on your legacy if you so had one.

Alright, dammit!

SUBIEKID - What is that blue thing? Looks like a coachbuilt Fiat. I was thinking an Abarth something. It's not a Moretti or a Stanguellini. It's definitely not a Pegaso (although the grille design bears a kind of resemblance). It's something cheaper. Maybe a coachbuilt Austin or something else British, too...but what? It's driving me nuts!

heheh, that is my 1959 FIAT Sypder 1500. The started production in 1957 and ended in 1959. This is the car that started 1500's from the 60's to 80's that are popular with most FIAT owners. Only 3XXX of the 57's to 59's where built, and only a handful were sent to the U.S. This was my grandpas car in the early 60's, and then a friend of my parents found it in a junk yard in the late 90's and restored it, i then purchased it. The restore job is so so. I plan on doing a full retore with a dark blue paint and tan top. The front and rear bumpers were missing and i have yet to find a pair.

here are some pics.

Thanks subiekid! So it was a standard production car? I'm surprised I never heard of it (I feel better that it's rare). Pretty cool. The split grille is what really threw me.

Laurel - subiekid's right. There's nothing finer than a fine woman next to an old Datsun. I miss my Z.

Wow, your mom's got a Subaru tattoo? Sweet. No big wonder, since she definitely seems to appreciate the cars.

Hmm... just looking through my web page, I find mostly weird ones... (click thumbnail for full-size image)
