cyliner head to case dowel pin removal

Post by GTwagon »

hi eveyrone,
im finally rebuilding my motor as it finally took a crap on me.
im replacing the ej22t with a ej22 n/a short block.
but n e ways im done with one side but the other side the dowel pin is stuck in the cylinder head and i need to get it out to align the HG.
long story short i got a ej22 n/a short block and didnt check if the down pins were in it.
so now i need to remove a dowel pin from another motor to align the HG for the current build.
i've search and all i can find is a how to on a ej25 and those dowel pins are smaller if it takes a 10x1.25 tap.
any help would be awesome so i can finish the build and put the wagon back on the road.

Your best bet is to buy new ones. Their part # is 804014060 and are around $2.50 from www.subarugenuineparts.com

A vice grip and slide hammer is good way to remove the old ones, but usually it destroys them when removing them.

No, it doesn't screw in. It's just a compression fit pin.
