The "longer male splined axle" is actually a normal 90-94 legacy rear axle with the differential stub still attached. There's a roll pin holding the stub on to the axle.
ex. (missing the driver side stub)

Wait....I'm confused now.
So my axles are correct but he needs the stub.
Should probly edit the first post saying he needs the diff stub. His post says he just needs an axle.
Oh well, gl in ur search.
On a side not...Wow, that diff needs help... haha.
Ok, second question, all the first gen legacy rear diffs i have seen have had male stubs coming off the sides.
Are you saying that rear diff is just missing a piece?
The male stub itself is seperable from the diff?
If so....
Can you just grab the piece from any first gen legacy rear diff? It seems like you can since all the first gen rear axles are the same fitment. And all the first gen front axles were the same fitment.

Just make sure you're making it clear that you're looking for the 1991 Legacy SS passenger side stub, not the axle- since those are identical to all 90-94 legacy ones..
Here's a picture from the passenger side. Note roll pin: Punch that out and it separates unequal length stub from standard axle.
Sorry about the tease, I already sold the diff & stubs.

That's really hard to find. Only the '91 Turbo Legacy used the stub with the VLSD drive splines to my knowledge. You might end up having to buy a new VLSD diff with the stubs included if you can't find one. Newer Subarus with a VLSD diff used an axle with a male end instead of a seperate stub. I don't know if you could convert to that style of axle.
Disclaimer: I may be wrong. Still hard to find. Good luck.
You don't need the axle. You need the stub out of the diff. If you order an axle you will not get the stub.
It's only on '91 Legacy SS with VLSD rear diff, yes.
For that price I would put a non-VLSD stub in it and wait for a better price. Sure, the rear will act like an open diff but it's better than nearly $400. Damn.
