Hey mark uhm.....did you happen to lose a 10mm snapon wrench?? Because I found this.... I don't own any snapon tools..so WTF?!

So far this is the second mysterious thing to emerge from this motor, the first was like 1/2 of a red shop rag...still waiting for the other 1/2 lmao

Not sure I know the outback has the right shape but the actual link itself is not long enough...or at least not as long as the sti v3 ones.

Today I decided I was tired of bouncing around and breaking endlinks so I tore into those V7 struts today. I don't think they are having the issue with the clunking to due the grease issue, but the tophats were just not positioned correctly.
Image
after thaking them apart and inspecting the differences in the mounts, I find that the SS mounts wobbled on the V7 strut body and needed a washer/spacer so the top not would be compressing the strut top tightly, with no washer it bottoms out on the strut body before hitting the mount and this creates a little space for the strut mount to "crash" against the tophat....problem solved at least I hope :D
Image
Got em all cleaned up and nice..
Image
primed the tophats
Image
here this one is painted, also this is the life saving washer that I grabbed out of my nuts and bolts box
Image
one down
Image
and the other, light was getting low and it started to rain so I will install them tomorrow...

Also got my intake pipe reducer in the 1.75" to 2" reducer elbow and the 2" aluminum joiner, had to trim the elbow a bit on each end to get it to fit, still has a tiny kink in it but it holds boost much better and man for an auto this thing hauls ass at 15PSi even on the little VF11, that tiny turbo is a decent fit for this car's powerband...I just wish I had a 5 speed...or had taken any pictures of the new silicone hose...haha guess I will take a pic when I pull the TMIC when I do my air conditioning stuff.

So do you still have a question/issue on the end links or have you sorted that out?

yeah not sure on which ones are going to be the right ones. I know of some aftermarket ones that will work but I don't have the cash for that right now. I even checked on rockauto.com for their UK ones under the few differnt sti years and they were all "C" links.

Still can't find the exact correct endlink....this is the burden of JDM, that and not knowing exactly what year the lateral links came from.

Wait, you found a wrench in your radiator hose?? Somebody was really trying to throw a wrench in your engine.

Yeah it would seem that way, AND this is the second foreign object I found in there.....That means I was driving for nearly a year with a snap on wrench in there.....I am hoping this is the last random thing that comes out of this motor....

That's incredible. I don't see how you could accidentally put a wrench in a hose or a rag in a thermostat housing.

Yeah not sure how that happens exactly? The Tstat housing had never been removed before so it was either inside the block somewhere...the wrench just totally baffles me how in the crap that got in.

I used 2 194 high intensity purple, 2 74 led purple and 2 74 led amber led lights on the ends for the fuel and temp gauges...you can't tell but it makes the needles light up more brightly, they might be better in red so I might try those int he future.

I know they look blue here but trust me, they are purple as fuck, not sure why they look so blue...speaking of things that look blue on camera for some reason, I got these.
Image
I read somewhere you need the PFR69-123, These are the 122....not sure if they will fit but the look like they
should. Can anyone confirm??

I think you did a good job. I like it.
Very very nice job indeed.. Even I would love to get similar light very soon

Thanks, the longest part was trying to reconnect the speedometer cable, major pain in the ass.

Stripped out the rear seats and got to work!
Image
Bunked out coilovers removed!
Image
BLOWN!!!
Image
You can see this one is covered in an oil film from the hydraulic juice seeping out
Image

Here I am using my ghetto ingenuity to extract a strut stud from the original V7 rear mounts, as a replacement to a snapped stud on the front passenger strut.
Image
Here it is right before I "pressed" it in the front strut......with a hammer
Image
Yesterday got the struts all finished and took er' out for a ride, MUCH MUCH better. No more clunking like before I had the washers in place, and it rides so smooth and tight, just like an STi, I am really loving it.

It is noticeably higher, which isn't bad, I did like the lowness but I will save that until I have money for springs and camber plates or a really nice NEW set of coilovers.....NEVER buy anything from J Spec Auto on ebay, they sell broken junk and refuse to give refunds....Now If anyone wants to spend $ to revalve those teins, they are for sale.

Also due to these piece of crap coilovers they sold me my endlink as you know is broken, here are a few pics. If you can name that endlink I would gladly buy you a beer!
Image
Image
After the endlinks are sorted it should only need swaybars and it will be pretty solid, it is definitely riding 100% better than before. No more getting stuck in perpetual bounce that oddly only subsided if I accelerated....glad that's gone!!
