If the block and or heads have been decked then it looks like it's "almost" off a tooth. No way to get it perfect without fancy adjustable sprockets that I don't think they make for phase I dohc heads.

I did get the timing correct. I have had the heads resurfaced once. This time I counted the teeth to make sure it was correct. The timing is now off but maybe off by the thickness of one of the cam gear marks.

There are cam gears but they're 300-500 for the set.

Im still battling a hesitation issue, its just not as bad.

You can use adjustable idler pullies like I did. Crawford and I think someone else makes them.

The ones for Crawford are kind of pain to adjust due to the large 1-1/4" size. You really need an offset wrench. I didn't want to drop a fortune for the wrench, so bought a cheaper regular 1-1/4" wrench at harbor freight and a buddy cut and welded it for me. It worked great.

The other manufacturer uses an allen wrench type setup to adjust their idler pullies and I would think that is easier to adjust.

I keep spending money when I shouldn't. Megan racing headers, 20 bucks used. Needs a 1/4" crack welded and a stud drilled and re-tapped. Fits regular oil pan.

scored a good deal on another set of wrx ignition coils. Interesting how the table of parts in my garage is accumulating...

Rebuilding the td04 i got from patrick at bnwsm and will be installing that and a 06 tmic on the white 93. Also ordered a rebuild kit for my VF39 as well.

Hate the cold, I kind of want to install a heater in my garage.

Well I'm having an issue that's quite a pain in the ass today. Day before yesterday crush washer on my oil feed line on the top of the turbo decided to start leaking. Called my buddy and for a great buddy deal I had my car towed home. Figured it'd be no big deal, I have a brand new Kinugawa SS oil feed line. Swap it out and check oil and presto. Everything worked out, except there's still a leak. HMMMMM (is this thing anti turbo?)

Anyways, I realized my drain line (it's a crazy concoction) was leaking as well. (When I first put the engine together I honestly didn't know there was a difference between heater hose and pcv hose (lesson learned awhile ago.)) So Today I pulled the turbo, Now the reason why I have this crazy concoction of an oil drain tube is because I have the twin turbo heads. The drain tube goes off to the passenger side of the car instead of straight up like SS or WRX & STI. I wish I would have fixed this 4 years or so ago. Now I'm battling with trying to figure out how to rotate the tube with the engine in the car and bla bla bla.....



Also found this cool piece of flex pipe in my uppipe (pre flex.) Thankfully it hasn't been the reason for grenading a turbo, but wow. Talk about a close call...

Well, I have a rod knock. Did a compression test today before yanking the motor out. 30psi in cyl 1 and the gauge was bleeding down fairly quick. 140psi on the other three cylinders. Seems weird i was able to drive it home without even feeling like it was running on three cyl. Whatever....

I'm shopping for a good used ej20 now.

Depends on how the 2.2 is and how much maxwell wants to charge me for custom pistons for the +2mm manley rods I have.
