vent control buttons
Any one have a stuck in on position defroster vent control button? How do I fix ? Right now only the defrost vents will blow.

You have to get under the dash and mess with the gears and arms that control the vent. They're either binded or need grease or your motor is dead.

The solder joints on the HVAC controller are probably cracked. Check out this thread.

I did perform the above recommendation. I soldered the contacts that looked cracked or had hairline cracks under a magnifying glass. Put most of the dash back together and no luck. So I laid under the steering wheel while changing buttons and heard my motor try to switch and would sloowwwlly wind down. It is most likely one of the two issues in your case.
