legacy troubles, please help!!

Post by jake_pitz »

Hey guys, i got my 1993 legacy a couple months ago and last weekend it just died on me when i was coming home and havnt been able to get it started again.
I checked the oil, batt, gas, sparks are good.
I was reading online and some people said it could be the timing belt, the ignition, alternator.
Was just hoping to get a little more info, anything will help
Thanks guys.

Pop off the timing belt access cover and check the belt/tension.

More info please. Does it crank over? Does it try to start and sputter? Or does it not hold a charge?

If it isn't timing, I just had the same deal and turned out it was corrosion in the harness at the fuel pump. Just have to pop the access cap in the trunk. It is secured by four screws.

To order what?

Also if the plug looks okay, you can pull the inlet line off the fuel filter, turn the key and see if it pumps fuel out of it.
