still easier to swap front end stuff then rear end considering rear quarter panels would need to be replaced/modified.....

I talked with the old man and he said that if it were him, he would weight the options, like whats had to swap and whats not. Since I dont care about lights (As I can just add more) I dont care. The LSD and oil cooler are easy to swap between cars, so thats not an issue either. I will probably put in racing seats, so harnesses will be manditory and I can ditch the autobelts. The killer in this deal is the ABS. While Subaru may have updated to the 3 selinoid system for simplicity, if the two systems are both sound and dont have problems a 4 selinoid is always better than 3. This seems to be the tie breaker between the two cars for me. The only question I have is other than simplicity, why did Subaru go from a 4 channel to a 3 channel ABS system?

Where are you gonna get lights that can make up the difference between 91 low beams and 92-94 low beams? I don't know of any practical way.

Oil coolers and LSDs are easy to swap, but LSDs can be hard to find.
The killer in this deal is the ABS.
I'll respond to this in your other thread.

More lights. Just read it again! Big honking foglights like this! http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/493266 (This is my friends car, I made the bar for him)

the LSDs might be hard to find, but I can swap the old EA82 LSD unit onto the Legacy ring gear if I cant find the new one.[/url]

Fog lights can't substitute for proper low beams.

Hm, that's a cool idea about swapping in the EA82 LSD unit... You should be able to get a junkyard 3.900 Legacy rear diff cheap. Those are clutch-type, right?

maybe some aux low beams...I know there are some HID ones out now, and hella used to make halogen ones, I don't know if they still do...
perhaps a set of nice round bumper mounted driving lights with high and low beam functions?
good luck

Micum - Auxiliary low beams help, but they don't make up the difference.

THAWA - Good point. You can always add a pair of Hella 90mm low beams which will outperform nearly all other low beams out there. :) But there's a good deal of custom work involved in fitting those properly.

I like the 91 better, but I see your point about the milage, but I do live in the PNW and we have subarus like sand on a beach up here! I guess that whatever comes along first that is in good condition Ill jump on, but my first choice is a white 91 turbo 5spd.

Well, when it happens, I'm sure many people here will be asking you to do some scouting for them. Not saying it can't? I'm just saying that the "down-trodden" will be greatly uplifted. :)

Oh, fyi, there was a 92-94 Sport Sedan sitting in a field this summer with a for sale sign on it. It was on 410 (east of Enumclaw I believe). If your heading east it would be on your right. It was on the West side of the pass, though. I saw it three out of my four trips over there this summer. It was still there on my last trip. It may be worth a trip over there if your not too far.

It looked clean from my passing, but I have no idea if it was a manual, auto, or what.
