That is correct.Sublimejoe wrote:To hook up my fan I can use the B wire as ground, and the YR for power.
One thing that's also good to look at in FSM is pin placement on the connector, for example , on the fan connector it shows Ground at pin 1 and power at pin 3.
Sometimes wire colors don't match up with the FSM making it not 100% reliable to entirely go off of wire colors.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Are you hooking up the stock fan or aftermarket?
Are you planning to use just the one connector you took a picture of on the passenger side or both the one on the passenger side and driver's side? The wiring colors are not the same. Is the AC short connector connected? It should be located around the passenger side headlight in the wiring harness and should be connected.
If you're using aftermarket fans and assuming you want to be consistent you should use the Black wire as ground (pin 1) and the yellow wire with a red stripe on the driver's side connector for power and the white wire with the blue stripe on the passenger's side connector for power.

The wire colors are pretty good with matching up as long as you're using the correct FSM and looking at the right spot.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Yeah that’s actually the only connector for fans. It looks like there was one in the same spot on the left side of the bay but someone cut it off. I will look for the a/c short connector. I believe I saw it tucked in fender. I will not be running a/c, does that change my need for that connector to be plugged in?Legacy777 wrote:Are you hooking up the stock fan or aftermarket?

If the AC short connector is not plugged in both fans do not operate together. You need the short connector connected if you want the "AC" fan to operate with the engine control vs. AC control.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Was hoping this would not be the case, but the EJ20g intake manifold that I purchased never came, the guy Bs'd me for weeks so I am assuming he never sent it, and never will. Sucks because I got double burned, the K manifold that I sold ended up being a fortune for shipping and I ended up paying for that. Cost more to ship it than I even sold it for.
Get me out of this manifold hell.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Bolted the manifold on today. The two inner bolts on each side were too short, gotta get some longer ones, thanks Mike!
Here are some photos. I am going to sit down later and print out the pages with vacuum hose diagram etc and figure out where everything goes.
Blue plug goes where?
What is missing here on the throttle body?

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Ok I am back, been busy with work but Im ready to do a few more things.
Next thing I want to get figure out and purchased is intake setup. What is the simplest possible setup I can do? Would it be just a 90 degree elbow to some sort of short ram type of thing? I do not have any of the stock airbox stuff.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Legacy777 used parts from an NA, such as the air box, to decrease the amount of 90* bends in the stock turbo intake tract.
Of course a short ram "hot air intake" would be easiest, I'm just not a fan of pulling in hot engine bay air, when you have an easy source of cold air through the fender. Of course that aftermarket intake could be extended to go through the fender.
