YES! and no too...

Post by BAC5.2 »

Well, picked up a hose, so the IC is firmly able to be attached to my throttle body (had to make a spacer, but that was no big thing).

But it seems that the IC doesn't want to sit below the hood. When I close the hood, the IC gets in the way. It closes, but I feel like it's putting to much stress on everything.

How did those with the Saab IC's get them to sit flush in the engine bay? What am I doing wrong with mine? AHHH!

Sorry about the poor quality, cell phone camera is the only one I've got quick access too you know.

Yep, I found the problem.

Ignitor was moved (relocated below the Clutch fluid resivoir for the moment), but the bracket right next to the fluid resivoir was getting in the way. A bit of creative hammer work, and the IC now drops out of the way, flush with the hood line. Perfect!

Just have to cut the factory Turbo to IC pipe, attach the fitting I bought today, and then get the pipe made (I might go and do that tomorrow to get the car out of my garage). I might swap on my uber-cool new stainless steel clutch line this weekend.

Just a suggestion, I would say don't do that... There's a hose at pep boys that has a perfect bend in it, and matched with a piece of exhaust pipe fits perfectly. I can give you the part # for the hose if you want.

Ooo, I would appreciate that greatly! I was hoping I wouldn't have to cut the stock peice!

Gimmie gimmie gimmie!

I'm having my pipe made out of Stainless Steel at a local shop. Should be pretty legit (and look completely factory too). The only out-of-place hose under the hood right now is that reddish orange hose from the IC.

Call me a wannabe moderator, but shouldn't this be in the intercooler forum?

Absolutely, and I should have mentioned in my first post. I needed a quick reply, and since the Ashtray is most frequently visited, I thought I should post it here. I appoligize, and would appreciate a mod to move it!

I'm the only one who can post mods in the Ashtray!! (Benefits of owning a non-subaru - DISCLAIMER says anything non-subaru related, right?). LOL! Diplomatic Immunity!

j/k! Too much coffee this morning.
