Anyone in NY help me out.

Post by omegax »

I have a proposition... i hope it is not too far fetched...
If anyone has kept track of my stalling problem, its basically narrowed down to the IAC or TPS... both very expensive sensors to buy...
Is there anyone in the NYC area with a 90-94 NA legacy that wouldnt mind me borrowing their tps/IAC for a test run or a spare so i can determine which is the problem?

You could test the tps yourself following these instructions:

Is the ecu throwing both codes or something?

problem is neither...but the way its going it and all the other things i've rules out the last one made sense that the car deosnt know its supposed to idle at times.. i was thinking it was one of those sensors. The ecu doesnt give any codes at all... :-/ and i have cleaned the iac valve thoroughly..

well if there's no codes being thrown it's probably not either of those. Did you go over all this info in a thread before? If so what's the link? I don't want to suggest you do things that you already did :)

yeah i went down that way... well if its not the sensors... ive changed the fuel pump/filter, fpr, full tuneup, vacuum tested... i am really at a loss here. If its mechanical something is sticking after a long drive.. but ive cleaned ou the IAC assembly, throttle valve and all that. Im about to drive the damn car off a cliff :(
