Finally pics....

Post by BAC5.2 »

Here they are, pics of my car with the Rota's on. They aren't full shots, as I took them in the garage while getting ready to do my brakes.

Sweet. Running 225/45-17 Nitto 450 tires? How do you like them so far? :)

Nice. I especially like the way the spokes curl inwards towards the lip.

Forgot to comment on the brakes. How are they (as mine are going in as soon as subaruparts.com finally sends me my f'n rotors and wait through the 3 week turnaround it will take to cryo-them)?

They are 17x7.5 +48 with 225/45/17 Nitto NT450's. The tires suck, but are better than RE92's. The 17's with tires weigh about the same as the stock WRX wheels and RE92's. I'll run some 225/40/17's in the spring (probably Nitto NT555's since they are offered in that size and people have great luck with them).

The brakes are super sweet. They are stock WRX calipers and brackets with "AP racing" SS front lines and Axxis Ultimate brake pads. I am running ATE-Superblue through the veins.

I like how it brakes in a straight line (it's raining, so not much can be done in terms of turning). I can already tell it's gonna be some insane front bias though. I didn't have the prop valve to do it.

Steve - It's really easy, shouldn't take long at all. Hardest part for me was swapping to the SS lines, and that's because they were for a WRX and not a Legacy :).

I like how the wheels look and feel on the car. I will be able to take full advantage of them as soon as I get a nice package back from HKS ;)

Cool. How's the stopping power (or did you have the old brakes with the new wheels to compare)?

Definately front biased, but I have a MUCH firmer pedal, and a significantly better feel. It's been raining, so not to much to try them out, but they feel really "right".

They are just WICKED front biased though. Turning at all and getting on the brakes is cause for some fun. It's definately a fun ride now, but not the most controlled yet. I think I will greatly benefit from the Bias valve under hard braking. I almost feel like the car want's to do a stoppie... in the rain. The Ultimate's don't feel much "bitier" than the Napa Premium pads did.

I am running stock wheels on RE92's, and they stop better than my Nitto's did in the rain with stock brakes.

Not an FMIC, that's next on the list. Gonna use one from an SRT-4.

The package from HKS is something that is long overdue :). A nicely rebuilt set of HKS HipermaxII coilovers. Weeeee!

Yea. But it looks like I have, yet again, changed my mind on the coilovers. Not getting the HKS HipermaxII's anymore :(.

I'm getting a set of DMS 40mm Gold's instead. *pimp*

I demand more pics! LoL. Do you have any of your gauges? I heard you say that they were Defi or something and I'd like to see how they look with the stock lighting. Also maybe a few under the bonnet shots for us 16G fans?

PS: Looks good.

Just an autometer boost gauge. I'll pick up an EGT and oil-pressure soon enough.

I'll do a full photo shoot when I get the coilovers in. You'll all have to wait in anticipation until then.
