It's worth pointing out that your 93 NA ECU is made by JECS, and so has a very different construction from the Hitachi-built ECU used on turbos.

So, can anyone help me with that stopper screw in the diagrams that THAWA referred me to? What does the screw do?
how do I know if it is set properly? And if I need to reset it, how do I do it? Any input will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I am fighting bogging issues and have been searching TPS threads and came across the reset ecu topic. For what it is worth - I had a mechanic tell me to reset the ECU by disconnecting both + and - terminals from the battery and connecting them together for 5 min. This was for a SLAAB 900 n/a (btw - DON'T EVER BUY A SAAB- you can sneeze in the car and it will throw a CEL, but I digress.)

I wonder if this would work on our cars to reset the ecu or if it would damage anything?

basically what you're doing when you do that is shorting the electrical circuit. Personally....I wouldn't want to do that. It may cause a spike through the system, which might not be good for things. Use a resistor as the bridge between the two terminals. Or simply disconnect the neg terminal and leave the door open. The draw from the door light will suck the juice out of the ECU's reserve power.

Some people accelerate the discharge by pressing the brake pedal for some number of seconds.
