Got my TMIC on today. Saab set up

Post by GizMo22t »

It is about 6:00pm and I have been working on the IC for about Three hours or so. I purchsed the IC for $25 form a guy I know in Ft. Collins. After much deliberation I decided on how I could get the IC to work. There was some cutting and JB Welding but not much. The inlet had to be cut and turned around 180Degrees. I got the pipe cut and the JB weld on last night so I could get it done today. I do have a picture of the finished job but I need someone to host. The only thing I still have to figure out is how I am going to mount the BOV. Total cost of the project was around $50 or so. That is only because of the low cost of the IC. If you have any questions feel free to ask

JB weld worked on my buddies BOV and he was pushing 20psi so I think that I'll be good with 10psi

Properly applied, JB-Weld is supposed to have a tensile strength on the order of 4,000 psi. If you do it right, it's almost as good as a good weld with decent rod.

I've got the exact same setup, and just to let you know, make sure that the IC clears the coolant tank lines on the back. Mine didnt and broke off in a matter of weeks, especially if the coolant tank is older and more brittle.

Thanks for the Info I'll keep an eye out. Do you have any problems of it rubbing on the fire wall?

It actually rests right up against the firewall, the coolant thing is the only problem its caused, other than that its a pretty damn good fit...

You should unbolt the coolant tank and turn it kinda sideways. Maybe
zip-tie it out of the way, then it won't break.

How did you clear the brake booster reservior? Also did you cut the outlet end of the intercooler off - or just place it into the throttle body? And finally how did you clear the lines coming out of the coolant tank?

Thanks,
Mark
