has anyone on here put quickshift shift improver in their tranny? I'm considering this, but have also heard that it wears out the clutshes prematurely... any thoughts?

I guess I should have been more clear. I have an automatic  and am inquiring about a tranny fluid made by B&M. I know short shifters are great in a manual trans.

fluid will not change the speed in which a tranny shifts.

Shift kit will help slightly,

I've got one in mine. It helped the 1-2 shift

SK® RE4R01A

Nissan RE4R01A, RL4R01A Mazda R4AX-EL, Subaru 4 speed ECAT, Nissan – Infinity – Truck - SUV V8 RE4R03A, Isuzu Diesel JR403

1988up 4 speed with or without lockup
Corrects/Prevents/Reduces:
Planetary burnup; 3rd clutch failure; forward clutch burnup Soft 1-2 shift; 2-3 cutloose; Band burnout and low lube flow causing overheating and total burnup

like I said, the biggest improvement I noticed was the 1-2 shift. It also helps inherant issues with the auto tranny. My tranny was pretty tired when I had it in, so it didn't fix all the issues I have.

kit was like 60 bucks I think....or possibly less....don't remember.

The kit is meant to be put in when rebuilding the tranny, however you can just use the parts meant for the valve body and be ok.

If you do what we did to my tranny, you'll need to drop the valve body and basically take it completely apart, and add the appropriate parts to the correct spots.

This is not a job for a do-it-yourselfer unless you have a very good background with internals of an auto tranny.
