Car got messed up!!!/need suspension advice.

Post by David Carter »

Needless to say my hatered toward honda's increase. Some dink in a Honda Accord hit my parked car....i guess they just didn't see my fullsize wagon coming and couldn't avoid it.

So as bad as it looks he got worse.. he lost the whole front end of his car and the engine pushed back into his firewall..serves him right..
So upon closer egzamination it wasen't as bad as i thought on my end. My strut was bent

and the ABS line mount tore away from the sheet metal and bent the ABS line to that wheel.

i checked out everything else..but untill i can get it rolling again i won't know if there is any hidden damage.

I was planning on getting GR-2's anyways.. and they are cheaper than factory i believe. my only question is can i run gr-2's with the stock springs.. or should i definately get an ei-bach sport spring set at the same time.. i don't want to buy the GR-2's and then have something break on me or damage the gr-2's before i get new springs.

Another question..what kit do i buy for both the struts and the springs..
It's a 91 LS WGN FWD..

Thanks for any advise ahead of time, also if you see anything in the pics that might be wrong let me know.

..oh.. P.S: anyone know where i can get gr-2's fairly cheap?

tirerack has them for 58 a piece but last i checked they charged more for 90-91 gr2's for no apparent reason. If you order the ones for 92-94 you should be able to get them all for 58

I have no problem with the stock springs & gr-2's. They're not a huge increase in stiffness over stock, but they are noticeable.

Weak Hondas! That'll teach 'em.

I suggest going to a junk yard and grabbing an entire setup, FWD or 4WD should work. That way you have no worrys about any hidden bends. Without the axle but include the strut/spring/mount

You should CLOSELY inspect the strut mount, Ive seen a couple rip apart from damage like this. The cracks werent noticed until load was applied to the mount. The strut pushed right up through the mount and it wasnt noticed until a knocking sound was heard and a dent showed up in the hood
