Installing JDM AWIC
Does anyone know what parts (OEM or aftermarket) would be needed to install one of these in a turbo car? Could anyone from Australia dig around in parts books?

Dont waste your time to install it in stock fashion. The only part I plan to use is the heat exchanger. Everything else will be custom made.
Off the top of my head:
Coolant lines
Turbo to heat exchanger tube
Heat exchanger to intake
Pump
Reservoir*
Radiator
*Im adding the extra water to increase the amount of buffer time I have. If sized correctly your intake temperature will stay level throughout your run.

I found an upgrade radiator for the AWIC on the MRT website (wish it was easier to tell what the part was). anyway, i had an oil cooler set aside and Im starting to think it will be waaaaaayyyy too small! what are you using?

Yeah I saw that. They have the origional sized one and an upgrade. I couldn't tell a difference between the two though.

all you need is acarfreak85 wrote:Does anyone know what parts (OEM or aftermarket) would be needed to install one of these in a turbo car? Could anyone from Australia dig around in parts books?
*water pump (about 15ltrs/minute will do)
*a radiator (heat exchanger) approximately 600mmx300mmx15mm with 2 30mm hose outlets
*the intercooler itself
*and hoses to connect the intercooler to the radiator (heat exchanger)
*then contact AVO in japan or Australia and get a samco silicon intercooler pipe to get maximum airflow.
PM me with your email address and I'll send pics of the stuff you need.

Do we need a smaller bumper beam to fit the heat exchanger? Are you sure, have you measured it up?

Can we get a part number for that bumper beam? Maybe SOA can still get them for us. Also PNs for the mounting brackets would help!

Get/make one that works like a water heater. Dont just allow the hot water to mix directly with the cold water. For example I plan to put a baffle horizontal in the middle and have the inlet on the top left and outlet on the top left. This keeps "hot" water flowing at the top and "cool wate flowing out the bottom.
Since space is limited think about battery location or using a smaller battery like a Hawker Genesis branded Dynabat (meant for boss hoss motorcycles and such). I havent decided but I will probably run two of these hiddin under the rear seats or in either side of the rear quarter panel.

Im 100% serious. Im tired of looking around, ive been doing that for months already... Im ready to get this thing on, now. I want to know EXACTLY what people are using, with specific part numbers for those items and web sites or stores that I can buy it at, so I can go out and get one rather than spending hours and hours trying to find the thing and end up with squat.
