All I can say is wow. Ive seen a few customs but this is the next best thing to a factory car. Too bad it costs so much.
394 HP 6600 rpm
369 TQ 3800 rpm
With a six speed. Also remember that this is the awesome torque curve v8.
Its about 1hp for every 8.8pounds!

Wow! It's like a roadgoing version of their outlawed V8 engined 3-series race car. I wish I had a scanner handy to put a couple pics from Lime Rock up. Bodywork's totally different, though, but it makes a slick sleeper.

5 engine into 3 is old hat.
my dream car is a 745i based m30 (3.5L v6 turbo) with moderner (read: aftermarket) electronics in a e30 (the boxy 3 series of the 80s). You can buy engine mounts for 200$, it uses the 5 series manual trans, and the e30 m3 driveshaft. maintains 50 50 weight distributionm and should be good for a whole lotta hp. It's not an uncommon swap in germany. I would also trade over to the m3 suspension bits so i would have 5 lug rotors and i could put in 7 series brakes. bilsteins at all the corners, a lsd, and some nice factory recaro seats. I think "345is" has a nice ring to it.

I thought BMW 6s were inlines. Wouldn't that be a 735i?

80s bmws:
the m20 "small six" is an inline. its in the 325 and 528e 2.7L, and the 325i and 525i 2.5L. The v6 M30 is the "big 6" engine. it has been around since the 60s in various displacements, its last itteration was the 1993 535i. The 745i was a semi-rare turbo 3.5L they made from 81-84. it filled the niche of the modern v12 bmw.
fwiw, the m10 of 2002 fame was in the 320i and the 84-86 318i. The s14 in the e30 m3 is a derrivative of it.
newer bmws have so many engine designations that i can't keep up. In my estimation, the other hot swap bmw engine is the z3 3.0 engine, its all aluminum m20.

I'm confused...I always thought that the 535i always had a 3.5 liter inline six... I know it did in the late eighties for a while at least. It really had a v6 in 93?
