Aftermarket BOV for the AWIC?
What will work, and actually hook up correctly? My bov currently resides directly over my turbo, so I'm expecting it to go out rather soon

I'm using a Bosch blowoff valve from a Saab 9000. It's cool because there are lots of options in the same form factor, and replacements are fairly cheap.
The Bosch valve's fittings are about 1" in diameter, so I slipped some 3/4" heater hose with a 1" OD over the 3/4" fittings on the rubber compressor inlet elbow and the plastic compressor-to-intercooler pipe.
Then I got a molded 1" radiator hose that had a short straight segment and also a 90-degree bend in it. I used these two segments to plumb the Bosch BOV in.
It now looks like it was supposed to be there. I'll try to take pictures in the morning.

Why do you think it will die? Aren't they setup this way on Legacys and Libertys with the AWIC, and Imprezas up to and including version 2?

Just curious....what does the stock piping/bypass look like on the liberties that had the AWIC?

It's very simple, short, and direct.
The blowoff valve is stuck into the rubber compressor inlet elbow and a short piece of straight hose goes from the valve to the fitting on the intercooler inlet pipe.
You can see it in this picture:

Note that the angle of the BOV fitting on the compressor inlet elbow is different on EJ20Gs. With an EJ22T inlet elbow, you'll need an S-shaped hose if you want to do it that way.

I have to leave for work before the sun rises tomorrow, so I just went and took a crappy picture just now:

I suppose it might not fit so great depending on how you deal with PCV.

Snowjob had one of his vf11/awic setups for sale and posted a good pic of the complete assembly piping/bov.
