The coffee cup mod is the deletion of the Turbo resonator, The 2nd big black box in your intake, Weld in a pipe with the correct fittings for the vaccum lines and your good to go!

It's not the best design ever, but I looked and looked and tested it and it seems fine as far as leaks go. I don't think anything's getting in that shouldn't be. BTW, under the electrical tape is JB-Weld.

A1Fiddler:

The red breather next to your airbox, what is it connected to, why did you do it, and how is it working out?

Im assuming it has to do with your canister purge solenoid?

Thanks,

It's connected to the black thing that it's connected to  I did it cause the SOB JB-Weld wouldn't hold my brass fitting on for the tube, and I figured whatever it was, it was going into the air intake before, and only needed filtered air, so I'd be okay making it seperate from the air intake.

It's working out fine, but the first one fell off on the road, which explains all the zip-ties.

It's not a stock BOV. I believe what it's actually called is an auxiliary purge valve and it has something to do with releasing gases from the charcoal canister.

Yeah it purges the gases back into the intake for emissions purposes. Also is part of the purge system to allow the gas tank to breathe so it does not collapse.

Well, now it just allows gasoline to evaporate into the engine bay.

Not so sure that's a good idea.

If you don't want to plumb the auxiliary purge system correctly I would just remove that filter and replace it with a cap. Or, better yet, cap off the fitting on the canister and replace that vacuum tee with an inline connector, removing the auxiliary valve from your car entirely.

The primary purge system will still work adequately.

I fixed that intake a long time ago guys. I now have everything sealed, installed, and routed nice. I'll try to find a picture.
